Hold the extinguisher upright
Pull the safety pin located at the top
This breaks the tamper seal
2 Aim at the Base Critical Target the source of the fire, not the flames.
Stand about 2–3 meters away
Point the nozzle or hose at the base of the fire
Keep your stance balanced
3 Squeeze the Handle Action Releases the extinguishing agent under pressure.
Firmly squeeze the handles together
Control the flow by adjusting pressure
Be prepared for recoil
4 Sweep Side to Side Final Step Covers the fire area until flames are fully out.
Sweep the nozzle from left to right
Continue aiming at the base
Advance carefully if fire diminishes
Stop only when the fire is completely extinguished
